So much in life interlaces with other facets of what we do. Yoga and accounting may seem like opposite ends of the spectrum until you incorporate them and look at bringing the spiritual and business side together to create a new kind of work environment and life balance.

I have worked in the accounting field for over 15 years. Most of these years were spent in my own business, providing tax and accounting services to a variety of small businesses. I have experience in the non-profit, service, retail and manufacturing industries in an accounting capacity.

I finished my MBA on December 15th, 2008 and intend to begin study for the CPA exam in January. I love to work with small businesses to help them define and achieve their goals, and create balance between work and life.

I have a keen interest in values-based leadership models and working with companies to help them devise a growth plan that is good for all stakeholders of the business, including owners, vendors, employees and customers. It is possible to create a viable, profitable business while remaining true to your values.

My future studies include working on a PhD, but have yet to decide which program. I am leaning towards Regent University, as they have an Entrepreneurship program that looks very intriguing!

In addition to my work as an accountant, I own simplicity...yoga and wellness, a yoga studio in Winona, MN. I am a 200 hour RYT and teach 6-7 classes per week. My focus is on power yoga, but I also teach several other types of classe, and really enjoy helping people to develop physically and spiritually through the practice of yoga.

Yoga teaching is my passion. I love to see people develop through their practice. Yoga adds a unique dimension to me personally and professionally. It helps to give me a different perspective on business, and I feel has broadened my skills regarding assisting people in their business goals.
